ABOUT
For the second time in Brazil
October 31 and November 1, 2026
MIT Hacking Medicine, an initiative created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), returns to Brazil for its second edition, bringing together professionals, students, entrepreneurs and specialists in an innovation immersion focused on transforming healthcare.
Recognized worldwide, the program has already contributed to the creation of more than 50 companies and to raising approximately US$ 2.5 billion in investments, connecting multidisciplinary talent to develop solutions with the potential for real impact in the sector.
On October 31 and November 1, 2026, participants from healthcare, technology, business and design will work in multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions to real healthcare challenges, supported by mentors from MIT, Einstein Hospital Israelita and partners from the innovation ecosystem.
Registration is free, no prior programming experience is required, and all solutions are developed collaboratively during the event, providing a hands-on experience of learning, networking and the creation of innovative healthcare solutions.

HACKATHON THEMES
For each edition, MIT Hacking Medicine selects two priority thematic tracks, defined based on the main challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector.
The tracks guide the hackathon’s activities and serve as a starting point for participants to develop innovative solutions with the potential to generate real impact. The themes are chosen together with specialists, partners and leaders from the healthcare, innovation and technology ecosystem, ensuring relevance and a connection with current market challenges.
Regardless of the track chosen, participants have access to mentoring, methodologies and tools to turn complex problems into viable solutions centered on the needs of patients, professionals and healthcare institutions.

RECOGNITION
At the end of the hackathon, the teams present their solutions to a panel made up of specialists from the innovation ecosystem, executives, entrepreneurs and healthcare leaders.
The best proposals gain visibility among partner organizations and have the opportunity to keep developing their solutions after the event.
METHODOLOGY
The MIT Hacking Medicine methodology was developed to accelerate the creation of high-impact healthcare solutions.
Step 1 Presentation of the challenges and identification of the main opportunities.
Step 2 Formation of multidisciplinary teams.
Step 3 Ideation and validation of solutions.
Step 4 Project development with mentor support.
Step 5 Final presentation to the judging panel.
